Manage a range of suppliers that provide a service to the bank. Reviewing KPI measurements and ensuring that SLAs are met. Effective supplier management by strengthening relationship and earning the suppliers' trust. Managing expectations by emphasising on quality and quantity. Identify weak spots & mitigate risk. Looking at opportunities to enhance service offering.
I have developed existing skills as I my previous roles have been management roles for large companies. There has also been an opportunity to develop & enhance these skills further Coaching skills was very beneficial as I deal with many key stakeholders from different parts of the business. Knowing how to deal with each person is ideal.
I am really enjoying this programme especially as I am relatively new to the business. The skills that I am learning are helping me to think about how they fit in to my day to day work. It is also useful sharing experiences with my colleagues as it helps to think about how the learning can be adapted to everyday work.
The programme is well organised as I have a plan for the whole 3 years and know in advance of what I will be learning. The lectures are very useful. I really like the way that lecture 2 summarises what was covered in lecture 1. I like to see how much I remembered.
I am allowed the time to go to the lectures which the costs are reimbursed by my employer. I am also allocated so many hours a month to complete my assignments. My employer takes an active interest in what I am learning & how my assignments are progressing. It is also useful to discuss some of my learnings in my 1-2-1s
The lectures and additional support that is available is perfect. The lecturer and assessor are available to answer any queries. If I require help with my assignments, I am able to discuss my thoughts and also send a draft. The lecturer is happy to advise if I am on the right path.
Using academic research has really helped me to realise that there are a number of different approaches to resolve situations. This qualification is helping me to think more about stakeholder management and how to engage to deliver tangible results. It is also useful to act as a reminder of things that I have learnt previously and how this can be adapted to my current tole
Working for a large company, there are a number of different network events. As a department, there are social evenings out/team building activities. At least twice a year I am involved with a Santander vs a Vendor Bowling evening. This is usually followed by a meal. I quire often see adverts/posters for football teams.
Yes
Santander has a Simple, honest & fair approach to everything that it does. This covers customers, employees and shareholders. As a company they have a number of policies that are aimed at people. As an employee, if I am passionate about what I do, I know that Santander will give support
Don't be put off by not knowing the industry. It can be quite overwhelming thinking about this highly regulated business. When I joined, I had to learn quickly but I was made very welcome and have learnt a lot. I embraced change by bringing my skillset to a new environment.
