  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • During my role I take calls from members who are broken down on the roadside carparks, at home and in dangerous or venerable locations. I begin by taking their membership number and then continue by taking information such as address name or date of birth to pass the member through DPA. Once this is done I then continue to take the members registration fault with the vehicle and then track down their location if the member is in a dangerous or vulnerable location I will then read out safety advice moving forward I would then check for height restriction and then send the job through so that we are able to dispatch a patrol to the breakdown

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt and improved many skills during my time of working at the AA, As I have worked in similar environments before and it has helped to develop a different experience of being on the phone to customers rather than being face to face. The conditions are very much a contrast to my previous employment.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The organisations programme is very well structured, As the format is very efficient and thus helps us work up to the standards that are required. But there is some parts within the programme which could be improved drastically for example one file is extremely hard to use for those of us who have never encountered it.

  • 9a. Would you recommend The AA to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe that the aa is an extremely exceptional employer and would recommend them to my friends as they are very efficient with the way that they treat their employees and each individual is seen as an equal whether they are young or old, this is a very good perk as an apprentice as it helps you to get comfortable in a working environment

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
  • I would advice others applying for a job at the aa to be open and honest in your interview as the managers are able to put certain procedures in place to assist you if this is necessary , also I would advice them that they should be confident in themselves and their abilities as confidence is key whilst dealing with members who are in dangerous scenarios
