My role as a team member is to wait on tables, serve alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, fold napkins, polish all the cutlery, reset the tables and to serve food. Also general tidying of the area and keeping it clean and clear of clutter, make sure glasses are washed and put away and we’re all set up for service
Yes I have developed a wider knowledge of managing foh and boh skills. The main skills I’ve started implementing into our routine at work to try and make things easier in the work place for everyone working on and of shift and to make it go as smooth and run easy.
At first I didn’t enjoy it as it seemed way over my level but as soon as it got properly explained to me was easier than I originally thought, my trainer was the one who kept pushing me as he saw potential and wouldn’t let me quit at it and made it a lot more fun.
It was very organised, the structures was split down into different sections so it made it easier to navigate around, the bullet points was whatbstuck out as they was the main things to do. With it been set into different weeks you no what you have to be doing and working towards for the coming weeks
My gm supported me throughout the whole course and gave as much advice as he could, after struggling for a while trying to do the course I gave in and asked my gm to just go through things as simply as he could to make things lighter work for us both
At first I didn’t have much communication, but after changing my trainer I got more than enough support to get me through my last hurdle, my trainer has pushed and pushed me and stuck by me and made me see the rewards for any future for myself in any other role, or job.
Since doing the course it has helped me see a lot differently the acts of doing things in a different way, I can now put into practice everything I’ve learnt since doing the programme and hope to see results from them, I’ve used a lot of it by helping my fellow team members get to grips with running a shift differently.
We don’t have anything in place at the minute, but I do think for future we will be putting in place a monthly get together or just a team meeting to go through the needs of upcoming events, or just for a rewards evening to do for employee of the month
Yes
