My job role consists of speaking to customers on a daily basis advising them of financial decisions that may better their financial situation. For example, I am able to offer repayment plans and solution to those customers that are struggling with making the set agreed payments, and also offer guidance and advice to those who need help with maintaing their account more efficiently.
I have learnt to be more confident towards speaking to customers about personal underlying issues that may be affecting their financial situation, I've learnt to investigate, probe and reassure customers in order for them to trust me in providing them with valid and informative advice all round. Also developed on time keeping and multi-tasking to get better end results.
I'm indifferent about my job role in all honesty, The time restrictions, apprenticeship scheduling and service needs are the key things that make me not enjoy the programme I am on. Alot of our learning time is pulled due to service needs therefore we can't really solidify our knowledge or meet deadlines.
Not very well organised, structure wise it's alright although because of the fact that apprenticeship workers are not exactly exempt from service needs, it causes the structure and organisation of modules/topics within the apprenticeship itself hard to keep up with and overall quite stressful. The programme needs - need to be better communicated with the managers in my opinion.
There is alot of support that I've receieved from my employer, both in work life and personal life. They understand that sometimes you need a cool off period, and they fully understand that calls can get stressfull, as they have experienced being in mine and my colleagues shoes therefore they approach work events in calm relaxing manner.
We got our usual one on one sessions and call markings once or twice a month, although as far as my apprenticeship goes, the manager doesn't really understand how it work nor can offer any kind of support/help with the content or meeting deadlines. They're able to set aside and push for time for me to do my coursework/modules.
Again, In all honesty, the programme itself doesn't help me in my job role at all, it's a nice way to get some background knowledge on how certain products work in case a Customer may ask a little bit more detail about certain products although, there isn't much point in that due to the fact that we have many different departments that are responsible for providing that information.
Yes, there are sports teams, charity events and many more. It is all advertised throughout the work environment and people do get involved. There are many opportunities for us to help out the local community or raise money or educate the next generation. We also get the ability to shadow job roles to get an idea of what they are like.
Yes
it has many benefits, perks and activities that other companies simply do not offer, The annual salary is subject to change based on your performance so that's always a bonus. But also, you're becoming a part of a very successful business which rewards its workers for the hard work and determination.
Make sure to research the company, and the job role through any means necessary. Researching the job role is a key way to understand what is expected of you, and you'll know exactly what you're working towards in terms of goals, aspirations etc. Also, try and stand out, otherwise.. what's the point?
