attending the NG academy to receive off job technical training, attending Aston uni on block release to over two years to attain a foundation degree in electrical power engineering and working on-site to gain practical experience and complete my logbook. spare time is used to complete any additional work that will benefit my apprenticeship.
thought the apprenticeship I will be working with the other apprentices on my course and team members on site resulting in my team work and communication skills improving. required to also manage my own time to ensure that I complete the apprenticeship to the required standard. through out the apprenticeship and the courses I take will improve the knowledge and practical skills I will need upon completion.
I enjoy it as every day is different and am required to work in various different locations keeping the job interesting. whilst at the academy there are a range of different activities that can be done to keep ourselves busy. the degree at Aston uni is both enjoyable learning all the knowledge we will need for the end job.
The programme is very well organised with our time being planned for the three years. when planned onsite it is up too ourselves to ensure that we plan on to jobs so that we meet the requirements of our logbook. to ensure we stay on top of our time management there are many things in place to ensure we are well organised.
we receive large amounts of support both onsite and whilst training. we have a mentor, support from our TL and support from both the training managers at the academy. on our programme all apprentices on my course support each other aswell to ensure we gain the most out of our apprenticeship.
we receive an abundance of support from the uni when receiving feedback for any course work that we have done. during lessons the tutors are also available to speak to and ask for any help that is needed. all lectures are also available via email if help is needed out of hours.
I feel that it is going to massively help me when I qualify for my end job giving the key basic knowledge ill needed for the equipment that I'm going to be working on. the practical qualification from the academy and competence from our logbook is key to ensure we are capable to do the day job.
there are a variety of extra activities for us to par take in that are stated on the company intranet. depending on the site which you are based has activites that you can get involved in to bond with your team and work on skills. Christmas party also happen across the business.

outstanding company to work for with the range of benefits and support that the company offers. when qualified the company car scheme is a great thing to get involved with swell as being supplied a car during the apprenticeship and a great salary also helps. the qualifications received are also nationally recognised.
keep calm for the assessment centre and do some research about the job from off the company website. involved is an interview and group task which neither are nothing to be concerned about. key is to partake in all activities and demonstrate all skills that you have to the best of your ability.
