My current role is on purchase ledger, where I post invoices onto our system, and then look at logged invoices, and try to solve any issues we have with them. Then I look at statement recs and paying customers what we owe, along with other jobs to help team members with their jobs.
I have learned many new skills, such as communication, using both emails and phone calls to talk to customers, time-management and organisation. I have also improved my maths and English skills daily by working, as well as being able to conduct my self in a smart manner and be professional.
I have really enjoyed my programme so far as it has allowed me to gain an insight and knowledge into a field of work that I show great interest in. The people, and the office environment I work in is great and there is always something going on to make days enjoyable.
The programme is well structured as a whole, but there are a few issues that I have had with getting my apprenticeship up on running, as I have not yet fully enrolled due to issues with Kaplan. I have been given the information and workbooks that I will need to progress with my apprenticeship though.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, on both a small and large scale. On the small scale I always get asked if I understand what I am doing and will always be able to get help if not. On a larger scale, my employer offer a whole range of benefits and incentives to support me.
I currently have only just began the process of enrolling for my apprenticeship, but I have had a presentation and many informative emails to give me everything I need to progress, and there are 1 to 1 meetings and live chats available if I had any problems or needed help.
I believe that it helps in a big way as it allows me to gain an understanding of the accounting world and helps me to apply my knowledge in a work environment. The qualification also helps to keep me learning and interested in the work that I am doing every day.
There are always things happening in the workplace, both outside and inside work, such as educational talks with professionals, to group nights out on weekends and even football on some days after work. There are also always fundraisers and fun events and games to be involved in, with everyone welcome.
Yes
Because we are always expanding and looking for new employees, and it is a very fun and beneficial place to work at. There are also many incentives to working here, so it keeps all the employees happy and always willing to work as hard as possible for their team mates.
I would tell people applying to pendragon that they should definitely get involved and apply, look on their website at the vacancies, and see if the roles available fit them. At the interviews, make sure you research and revise, and be yourself, everyone at the interviews are friendly and nothing to worry about.
