i provide the management team with information relating to performance on their respective departments. I do this using different software to collate the information on to an excel spreadsheet. further duties involve basic it support for the department and the building of dashboards to present the information in a clear format.
since starting this role I have became much more fluent in my use of Microsoft office software as well as improving my general it skills through use of multiple software types. on top of this I have improved my problem solving ability and my confidence to approach management with different ideas.
my role is very challenging and there is always something new to learn and try and adapt to new methods of working. there always seems to be a new project to get involved with which always feels like it is beneficial to the management team and the department in general.
from starting my apprenticeship the first few weeks lacked any clear direction as both myself and my line manager had no idea on the structure of the course and the possibilities for further study. however after an induction with the training provider we both have a clearer image although not a perfect understanding.
from the start support has been brilliant from the management team around me to make me feel like a utilised and important member of their time as well as being fully supportive with any potential upcoming apprenticeship work I have to do. my personal line manager has made it clear I have her support in finding my own path within the business as well as support for further study after this apprenticeship.
I haven't started training yet so would be unable to answer this yet.
although I haven't started my course yet it is clear from the layout and content of the course it will link in perfectly with my current role and help allow me to progress as a data analyst. the training provider as supportive of using current projects at work to be used as part of my evidence.
although I haven't personally done any of these yet Newcastle building society have all of these in place. they have a staff association which has parties and events, as well as this they have 2 volunteering days a year per staff member which you can use individually or as part of a team
Yes
very supportive environment to work in with great staff members. always something to do and you feel very well utilised and important to the management team. the apprenticeship programme is combined with an early talent programme within the society which makes you feel like there is an actual plan in place for your progression.
be confident during the assessment day as well as being yourself.
