My role within the company involves repairing different white goods appliances on a daily basis and communicating with both customers and colleagues within the company. On a day to day basis I am given a set amount of jobs, phone customers on the way to the jobs, repair or order parts that may be required and finally debrief the job once complete.
My communication skills have improved greatly since joining the company as I am constantly dealing with customers everyday and every situation is different. My practical skills have also been developed as I joined the apprenticeship straight after sixth form and had no previous experience prior to joining, the apprenticeship gave me plenty of training to make sure I was confident doing the job.
I really enjoyed the programme as it put me with a varied group of people of a similar skill set to me and made me feel comfortable learning new skills together. I also enjoyed the variety of training we got both being in company training and through Birmingham metropolitan college.
The programme was well organised from the beginning as we were given timetables of when we would be receiving our in company training, college training and when we would be getting on the road experience with qualified engineers. The company made sure hotels and hire cars were booked for us when needed for travelling which made it an easy experience.
I receive a lot of support on a day to day basis from my employer and they are constantly looking for feedback to see which areas they can improve in. We also have team meeting's to see where we can improve and look at how we can do so going forward.
We received a lot of support from the training provider throughout the course, this included one to one meetings at the end of every weekly training session we had. In these meetings we would look over our progress, discuss any problems and set achievable goals for the next training session.
The qualification I achieved makes me perform better in my role as it gave us a different perspective on how to approach jobs and different faults we could find. The training we received from our training provider allowed us to work on machine we had not previously worked on giving us more experience and knowledge.
There are plenty of social activities at work. Examples of this are Christmas events where the team can get together and go out for a meal. Another example of this is social event held for our graduation where we had a company paid for meal and stay at Sheffield football stadium.

I would recommend an apprenticeship through curry's pc world as they are a leading UK company and offer many roles throughout. They are very supportive of their colleagues and customers ensuring you have a good experience with them. There are also several benefits to be had including a good staff discount at both carphone warehouse and curry's pc world.
My advice to people applyinto currys pc world would be to make sure they are going to give full effort and commitment in their chosen job role as they more you put in at this company the more you are going to get out of it and progess forward within their career path.
