I am an apprentice technician. This includes various servicing of light vehicles, housekeeping and some jobs which include diagnosis. I also attend the BMW group academy which is located in Reading on average every 2-3 months.
I have learnt many new skills which include using the diagnostics machine, multimeters and oscilloscopes. I have also learnt how to keep up with general housekeeping. I am now confident in carry how brake servicing and also general maintenance of a light vehicle which includes changing tyres and balancing wheels.
I enjoy the variety of jobs which we receive in our dealership. One job could be a oil and micro filter service or a brake fluid. The next job could a timing chain issue or a job which requires the engine to be removed. Or a job which requires electrical diagnosis. I also enjoy the time which I spend at the BMW academy as the training and facilities are second to none.
I feel that my programme is exceptionally well organised and thought through. When you arrive at the BMW academy you are welcomed exceptionally. The rooms are good. The training which is provided is amazing, it is clear that the trainers have a good/strong and clear understanding of what they are teaching.
The support I receive from my dealer is good. If I require anything they do their upmost to try to ensure that I receive what I require. They provide me with good support and assist me when needed. If I need anything whilst I am on training my dealership tries to rectify it.
The support that I receive from my training provider is exceptional. When I need anything or any assistance they always deliver it to me. If I don’t quite understand something they do their upmost to deliver it to me no matter how complex it is or they demonstrate it.
I feel that it gives me much more confidence to take into the workplace through many areas such as general maintenance such as servicing, brakes and removing and refitting suspension components. It has learnt me a lot regarding accurately diagnosing faults both electrical and non electrical and especially using the diagnostics machine.
No there aren’t any at all that I am aware of. I am not permitted to do overtime either due to me being an apprentice. There are some activities which I am able to attend if I wish whilst I am on training at the BMW academy in Reading.
Yes
I think it’s an okay company to work from and it is quite well laid out.
