  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently, I am in a Anti Money Laundering project, working with a client through transaction monitoring by going through accounts, creating narratives, listing the activity I see, detail about the customer, and make a decision on whether to further investigate the individual or not. Outside of the project I take part in many other out of the office areas provided by EY

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very organised, every Monday I attend university, and have a set plan of what will be gone through on that day, with all the resources and help i need, then the other four days of the week i go to work to support my project, the communication between the university and EY has been phenomenal and has allowed things to run very smoothly.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider, Northumbria University, have been very generous in all the support they offer me, they treat all members of the cohort as official members of the university, and allow access to all its benefits and facilities, they have informed me off all workshops and activities which they believe would help me, and in each scenario they did exactly that.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • By working towards my qualification, it gives me a better understanding of the working world, and from this I have been able to adapt to situations in the work place such as giving a presentation in front of an important client, or reading through reports and being able to understand all the terms and absorb the information

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • In terms of extra curricular activities, EY has something for everyone, mainly take part in the football after work on Wednesday, where we do seven aside every week, for me its a perfect way to stay fit alongside socialising with my fellow colleagues, through it I have met many more people within the company who I wouldn't have otherwise.

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The main reason I would recommend EY to a friend is that it is an amazing place to work, where you are treated as an individual rather then a number, alongside this, all the programmes and career opportunities offered are endless with support offered throughout each and every stage of the way.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • In terms of advice and tips, I would say the most important part is to be yourself, regardless of anything else, alongside this I would definitely recommend reading up on EY, what they do, who they are, and from that you will be able to choose the career path which best suits you.
