I deal with customers coming into the branch wanting to deposit/withdraw money etc, shadow staff members to be able to learn more about what they do as a branch and how I will be able to become a big part of the team later on in my role within the society
The new skills that I have learned since joining the branch will be how to be able to spot counterfeit money, I will also be able to develop upon my communication and my customer service skills, I will also be able to improve upon my skills on banking and how to handle customer money
I enjoy my programme very much as the staff are very friendly and are there to be able to support in anything that I might need in the branch and will be there to help in any mistakes that I might make later on and they will help me with any areas that I may want certain help on
My programme is extremely well structured and organised, as I started, I was welcomed into the branch to meet all the staff and was given a tour of the place and facilities. I was shown a planner of what the next few weeks of my time table would consist of
I receive full support from my employer for if I had any complaints or any concerns then I would be able to speak to my employer about them and it would be done in a private and confidential way and I know I would be able to receive any amount of support I needed
I received more than plenty of support from my provider when I was working towards my qualifications as they made sure that I was comfortable the whole time and may sure that any additional support that I might of needed that it was provided for me to be able to assist me
I feel my qualification has helped to perform better in my role as it has allowed for me to get a better understanding of what my role would intake and how the society performs and it has also given me an inside of what kind of tasks that I would be performing when I am in my role
There are 2 volunteering days that I could partake in which will allow me to be able to volunteer somewhere of my choice that is close to my heart. There is also a staff association which hosts events or discounted prices for certain things which I could partake in as well
Yes
I would recommend Newcastle Building Society to a friend as it is an incredible job opportunity and they are an extremely friendly place to work for who will help you in any areas that you need and have lots of opportunities for all kinds of people and all the staff feel like a family when working for them.
The tips and advice that I would give to someone who is applying for a job at Newcastle building society is to research into what a building society is as it will give them a better understanding of what we do and to just be them selves and to give it everything that they have.
