I am a laptop technician and I am working for Dixons Carphone. I am responsible to repair customers laptop and sent it back to customer in good working order. I make sure to solve hardware issue and also cosmetic issue that customer have with unit. I also make sure that customers data are protected under the data protection regulation.
When I started working for my company, I did not have any degree or experience about repairing laptops. Since the day I started working for my company I have been on many different training and courses also loots of support from my colleagues at work. On beginning of this year I started apprenticeship and I can say that this will be helping me to understand and do better my job and also provide better service for our customers.
I started this programme just over two months ago and I already can say that it will be very helpful. The programme is covering different areas, some areas that I never had any training or experience before. This is making it more interesting and more helpful and I am sure by the time we are finished, it will make me better person on many aspect at work.
The programme the way I understand, it is very well organised. We received on previous days of our programme inductions and information the way programme will run during our training, and it was very clear the progress on any aspect. On every session we get enough information in details about our course.
I was one of the luckiest to get chosen for this programme. We do have often assignment that should be done at work and we get enough free time to complete our work. My specialist and manager are always ready to help me when I need their help. Also if we need to swap our days related to the programme, we always get it.
Training so far is going very well. On beginning we was given all tools needed for this programme. Our tutor have very good understanding and communication skills. Our tutor always try to cover every lesson the best way it can be. Also we get always support even out of hours by email.
It is been only two months since I started this programme and i can say that I already see the difference and improvement regarding my work. I am positive that by the time I finish my apprenticeship, I will have better understanding and skills related my work and as a person.
Our company organise often different activities. We just had the biggest work party that held every end of finance year. On summer time we organise barbecue on our garden. Sport events also taking place often. In summer also every year our company organise a family day out with life music, food and drinks and also loots of games for kids.
Yes
I have been working for this company for over 11 years. During this time I have worked on different departments and everywhere I have been treated with respect and always I had the support I needed to do my job the best it can. I love the technology and our company is the best place for me.
I would say that for anyone that like me, is fascinated about the technology, there is no better place to work. Also for anyone that want to progress with career, this is the place of opportunities because is this company if you work hard, then your work will be rewarded.
