I m currently a financial crime apprentice, in my apprenticeship I undergo rotations in different departments within financial crime including EDD remediation and I am currently in the Payment screening department which allows me to understand sanctions and the roles within this area. I have 2 days allocated to my BPP training which allows me to grasp a better understanding of my industry.
I have developed my resilience and flexibility skill within the apprenticeship, there are set back b=however the support system is great! everyone wants to see you do well! I have also developed my networking skills, Santander has allowed me to communicate with key senior stake holders, and create relationship which will help in the future
I firmly enjoy my programme, the expose to different areas and the opportunity to progress and the support network is great! your opinions and ideas are heard of and enhanced by others The programme also allows you to meet with other people and teaches yourself about your own profile and how your work can be enhanced
overall the structure is firm and good. We know well in advance what we should be doing but also are given the freedom to make and take control of tasks. You are shown where is the next step for your career and how to achieve it. The apprentice has been running for 3 cohorts now so the foundations are strong
as much as I need and want! it is great! from all departments! We constantly have 121 and developmental meetings in order to understand where you are in your career. Also the departments themselves offer there own help via SME and managers. External support is given for personal issues which is great! and accommodated if needed
good level of support from training provider. We receive 121 from our skills coach who is always available to talk to! we get additional tutor training and workshops to enhance our skills and understanding of the industry which helps with future career prospects. there is also special measure put in place for any problems like dyslexia
it has defiantly firmed my knowledge in the industry and has allowed me to understand why thing happen and the importance of my role. it not only allows the foundation of my industry understand to occur but also challenged my understanding to make it strong and allow me to excel within the work place
yes loads! from netball to football Not only do you have physical extra curricular activities to get involved in you have communities at Santander ranging from ethnicity, carers and more. this allows you to have a consistent network but also get involved with other activities outside of the industry but with the business.
Yes
its a great experience, the exposer is great! and you feel like your a person of significance. unlike other programme you work the trade straight away, it allows you to build understanding throughout being practical and working live payments and customers!. It also provided you with the chance of a full time job role within the business after the course
Your personality should always be shown! determination and aspiration will defy the barriers that you build up for yourself! so be positive and strive for the best within yourself and that will be noticed when applying. Don't feel like your skill set doesn't fit what sit should be because being individual is crucial, Santander is a place of different personality's and that is seen within the apprenticeship
