My role as a senior personal banker is to see customers on a face to face basis and review their current financial position. I completed a financial health check for every customer which helps me access all the different areas such as borrowing, savings, protection, day to day and business banking and then review where we could be helping them make money saver money, provide confidence and lend them money.
Yes since starting my role I have developed great communication and listening skills. In this role i have to listen to the customer and ensure i am doing what is best for them. I have learnt to communicate in a way that is understaing and can adapt how i talk to suit each customer. I have also developed great team working skills as i have to work with my team every day to ensuring we are helping every customer as best as we can.
I have really enjoyed completing the apprenticeship I have found that it as helped me learn so much more than i would have if i had just done the role. It has encouraged me to achieve so much more, such as promotions as i want to say i have completed the program and achieved a distinction. I also love learning so it Encourages me to read and write.
I have very impressed with how organised the program is, i understand the time schedules and am always given enough time to complete work. My regular calls with Linette are perfectly timed to suit us both and always fall before work is due so that i am clear on any extra things i may need to do.
My manger has been extremely supportive, i have always been given time in the week to complete any work. Any questions or queries i may have she is always there to help. My manger pushes me to achieve and this has really help me in completing the work. She always makes her self available for the calls so that she is to up to date with what i have to do next.
I receive a lot of help and support, she is always at the end of an email and never takes more than an hour to respond. She is always available to help me and answer questions. She always makes time for our calls sp we are not rushed. She also remembers things i have raised and always follows up to ensure i am not struggling.
I think it helps me to do more. I have been promoted from apprentice personal banker, to personal banker to senior personal banker in the year and a half i have been here and this is to do with the training. I want to push my self to achieve the best result.
We always have charity events to take part in, i always make sure i get involved with these events recently we have had two race nights and raise ver £2000 and also collected Easter eggs for children in hospital. I also encourage the branch to meet up after work as its a great way to bond by arranging meals and activities.

Because i Feel RBS is a great place to work, there is always different roles and route. They encourage you to be promoted and grow constantly. There is so much learning available and in house training which may companies do not offer. RBS is a career not a job a no i feel this s very important especially for young people of my age who are yet to s tart their career yet or yet to find something they love.
Work really hard, push yourself to achieve more. Always take advantage of the opportunities that RBS offer you because they may not come around twice. Be honest with your mangers because they are the ones who will support you the most. Be energetic and encouraging because this can really help you every to achieve More.
