I have gained a lot more self confidence by working at m&s bank and my enrolling onto the apprenticeship scheme. It has allowed me to also learn to express myself in different ways and adapt my knowledge to different scenarios. I have also greatly developed my team working skills and my communication skills.
I would like to start by saying I really enjoy the apprenticeship programme I am currently working towards, its a really enjoyable experience and it is really going to assist me with my future progression within the business. I enjoy learning about different types of banking and cultures as part of the apprenticeship it has really widened my knowledge.
The apprenticeship programme is really well set out. Firstly you are enrolled onto Tessello which is an online facility which allows you to keep yourself updated as to what part of the apprenticeship you are up to and what needs completing next which is really helpful to know. You can also use other online facilities such as LIBF which allows you to see where you are up to in terms of revision.
With my employer- Marks and spencer bank I don't actually receive much support from them directly, we are allocated 2 hours per week to complete apprenticeships tasks. However the support I receive the most of is from my talent coach where I have monthly check in meetings and we always keep in contact should I need any extra support on a topic I am struggling with for example.
I received a great deal of support directly from the training provider. They have a lot of online facilities we can use to support us with the apprenticeship scheme which is really helpful for me. I also receive support and feedback which helps me improve so I am able to work towards the best grade possible.
The qualification in which I am working towards is going to be really beneficial in terms of my future progression in the business and also in my current job role. It allows me to answer complex queries from our customers and also helps me expand my knowledge in retail banking which again is helpful in my job role as I can apply my knowledge to customer scenarios
Yes we have charities days where we are able to have a day away from the office to volunteer at many different places. Last year I completed some volunteering at chester zoo. This year as a team we are home to volunteer at the north wales rescue centre by helping out with some dog walking. There's always something to be involved in in the workplace office too such as baking a cake day or charity sales etc.
Yes
There are a lot of perks for working for marks and spencer, such as staff discount, perks at work include discounts on train tickets, theme park ticket discounts and even offers on holidays too. Marks and spencer is also such a friendly environment to work in which is always a positive.
Any tip I would advise anyone wanting to apply to work at Marks and Spencer is to be open minded, there are so many opportunities here for you to expand your knowledge and progress within the business. There are a lot of benefits that come with the job role too which again is a positive :)
