I work within the multimedia department at Nomura Investment Bank. I set up conference calls between on site (London, Angel Lane) and around the world. I also edited videos for the comopanies use in around the main building as well as their site and intranet. I also filma nd boradcast live films for internal employees and help set up events for external clients.
I have learnt new skills within the 2 weeks that I have worked here already. I am about to eb put on several courses to help further my knowledge of editing and controlling audio and visual media for the business. I am also training with IT apprenticeship company Just IT who are also helping me complate another qualification.
I am very lucky as I have a very nice team at the multimedia office. The work load is shared and they are always willing to help each other out if one of the team is busier than the rest. They are also being extremely helpful to me as I trying to learn the processes of the job. The setup of my treatment by the company is also very good and have made me feel at home. I am currently enjoying the job and hope to complete the year succesfully.
With Nomura's recent pay rise for Nomura (only 2 weeks in to my apprenticeship) I feel like I am a valued member of a thriving community and business as well as beign an important asset to Nomura. All employees treat me like a normal employee and not a child which is also very good.
My programme has been roughly outlined at this point, once my tutor comes in to Nomura, I will be able to judge this better. They havent visited me in the business yet due to the short time that I have been here.
So far this hasnt happened but is due to in the future due to my short time of working with Nomura.
A lot. I have continued to support from my manager/boss within the team and also have backing and support fromt he teams members as well. HR have also been considerably helpful and supportive.
Very well. I am getting a considerably high wage for an apprentice and this covers my journey into work from zone 6 to 1 within London.
The company offers a lot of opportunites out side work includng activities as well as most of the events proceeds going to chairty.
