Looking after our RMs portfolio. This includes making sure every customer is contacted per month. Making sure we receive the correct management account information per month. Correcting all excesses on a daily basis. Furthermore helping our RMs prepare for meetings with customers / prospects. General phone calls with customer queries also.
1) I have learnt how to carry out what we call Raroes, this is the tool we use to figure out how we price deals to customers. 2) I have developed my communication skills, either internally with colleagues or externally with customers. 3) Time management has also been a skill ive developed massively within the role, as you have to prioritise certain tasks to make sure you're doing the best job you can possible.
I have had a mixed bag with the programme. I love the job role itself and my team, however with the apprenticeship itself ive discovered a few problems. If im honest I don't think you actually learn a lot during the actual apprenticeship scheme, mostly learning via the actual role itself.
The programme is structured well on RBS's side, there is a clear plan and route for apprentices to follow. They have guidance in place such as buddies who are put in place to guide you through the programme. However I feel there is a clear lack of communication between BPP and the bank as things such as me already passing my professional banking qualification keeps getting brought back up even though its not an issue.

I don't receive a lot of training if I were honest. As mentioned I have already passed my professional banking qualification, therefore theres not a lot of training I can gauge! Re the workbooks themselves I don't find them to be very interesting nor do I find them to be beneficial training wise.

Personally I get involved in a few things. My mother is a director at Rainbow house, which is a childrens hospice, so I spend a portion of my time there helping out. Personal hobbies would mainly be based around football, since my injury I have been watching my team, Everton around the country.
Yes
RBS is a great place to work for. There is plenty of opportunity to grow and develop yourself as a person as well as a career. Working in such an organisation as large as this gives someone the freedom of pretty much choosing any role imaginary and it being applicable tot his business.
My best advice to provide to others when applying to RBS, is to prepare STAR questions for interviews, to be open minded when it comes to roles as wherever you start within the business there is opportunity to get to wherever you want to within your career path. Also being confident when meeting customers/colleagues is essential.
