My Job role on a daily basis involves caring for my customers, for example if they need a card increase I will talk to the credit card team and increase that for them, sending off a request for a change of address, I have to complete service calls to customers each week to check the service we are providing them with is good or I have to do something called SOA ( statement of appetite ) which is looking at the past 3 years of the customers financials and coming to an overall decision of how much we would like to lend them, if my manager agrees with me I can then approach the customer with the amount we would like to loan. the above is just a handful of tasks I have to do in my day to day work.
Yes I have, I have learnt how to use a system we use everyday called back office, that took time to build up my knowledge around that system. I have also gained confidence when talking to new people whether it be within my work place or a customer. I now fully understand the abbreviations be use as a bank.
my job role is really good, I enjoy it a lot, the responsibility I am given / have been given has really helped with my personal development and learning. The apprenticeship program is good and provides enough resources for my learning ie books, webinars, pass cards & practise exams however the communication between BPP and the apprentices could be improved
the apprenticeship runs at a very fast pace, which I do find good, however the webinars and revision plans started however we didn't receive our revision books for about a month after so that made it quite hard to actually get into a good revision plan routine. apart from that it is run well.
the support i receive from my employer is great, they are fully supporting me. we have sat down together and discussed what works best for me and have come to an agreement that everyday between 3 - 4:30pm I will go into a quiet room and revise, I read the text book.
The training providers ( BPP) are supportive and will always try and answer any questions I have. I have monthly reviews with my skills coach to discuss how I am doing, what I want to improve and what has already improved throughout this course. if my skills coach is available to ask a question there is many more people I can ask.
Some of the webinars and study text i have to learn for my exam fits in with what i do in my day to day job therefore when it comes to the webinars or my revision time i already have an idea of what is being spoken about because i have put it into practise in my daily job role.
There are many conferences and seminars that we can attend, we can take part in charity if we would like and we do occasionally have networking drinks within my team and sometimes with other teams, the seminars are a great opportunity for networking, we also do fund raising for charities within our teams, for example a 5K walk for guide dogs association.
Yes
I would recommend RBS because there are many great opportunities within RBS. They are a very supportive company and always try to better people, there is always opportunity for growth in RBS and they strive for the best which helps bring the best out in their employees. RBS is a lovely place to work.
The advice I would give is always aim to come into work with a can do attitude, you have to want to learn and strive to get better. You will always be well supported and pushed if you have the correct attitude for example wanting to learn and providing a good customer service.
