  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working on the programme as it gives me something to focus on and teaches me new skills that help me look at my role and my development. I enjoy having something to work towards and learning about the industry and not just my role. It also gives me the opportunity to get feedback which I can build on.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme is much better now than when I first started. There wasn't a lot of support at the beginning and my main focus then was my role which left me wondering about the programme. I had a buddy who only contacted me once or twice.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer always gives me support and allows me the time I need to complete any missions. My new manager has no previous experience of working with an apprentice but is much more involved and helpful. There is always time in my 1:1 to discuss my recent missions and my manager is always included in my skills advisor meetings.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive support from my skills advisor who is always on the other end of a phone call or email. He has helped me a lot with all of my missions and always answers any questions I have. He provides feedback to all of my missions and helps me develop and aim for a distinction.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has taught me things about the industry I wouldn't have learnt otherwise and helps give reflection which enables you to put the things you learn into practise. I have learnt things that I can pass on to my colleagues as well so that we are all working together.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are networking events and social events and also chances to volunteer. I have attended a quiz. I also volunteer for a girl guides group. There are also engagement events such as bingo and decorating your desks for christmas. We also have team buffets and fun huddles together which are fun.

  • 9a. Would you recommend NatWest to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it has been a great place to work and I have enjoyed my time so far. I have made lots of friends and developed skills that I can use for the future and progress my career. There are lots of benefits like a pension and cinema tickets etc which are good.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • The more you put into the apprenticeship the more you will get out of it. It helps to be a pro active person. You have to be willing to put the work in and manage your time accordingly so that you make sure you complete your missions and also your work within your role.
