I manage a team of 20 people, screening 2ND stock from Carphone and Dixons stores. I ensure that grading criteria are met and customer data is protected at all times. I look for new possibilities to increase recoveries for the Company. I manage colleague's individual performance and review them on regular basis.
I understood differences between cultures and how to manage colleagues accordingly with that in mind. I understood better how to prioritise my day to day tasks to be even more efficient. I thought that due to my experience, I knew it all, however, it turns out that there is still plenty of knowledge for me to master.
My assessor is very professional and helpful. I enjoy learning new things, but more than that, I enjoy seeing that I have been already operating on a high level. I also look forward to learning new skills and am always excited when I start exploring new knowledge based assignments and do my own research about a topic.
It's well organised and structured, however, there seem to be too much content for 2 year period. Onefile is very useful to monitor my performance. I especially appreciate GAP analysis which tells me where I need to focus next to keep on track with my programme. It's great that I can access it from home.
I receive all the support I require from my employer. If I need to spend time on written assignments, my manager is always supportive and allows me to book a room so that I can focus on my writings. I also have no problems with attending classes in college during my work hours.
There is plenty of support. I can use college facilities and my assessor is always more than willing to explain if something is not clear. Before my exams that I had to take for both English and Maths, my assessor ensured that I was well prepared. He booked a room prior to the exam so that we could go through things I was not sure about.
I feel more ascertained in my role, knowing that my long practise in a managerial role is now backed up by theory. I also feel more confident that when I will apply in future for a promotion, knowledge that I gained will help me during the interview. I am also more confident when I discuss work matters with my peers.
There is plenty of all sort of extra-curricular activities at Dixons Carphone. I am most impressed with this. There is a football team that anyone willing can be part of. There are plenty of events organised by our Spirit team which also support charities. We have workplace for our use to keep informed about other departments.
