My role is in the Data department of Lloyds Banking Group. My smaller team is involved in looking at any changes that are coming to the database and assessing them to ensure that the change is well thought out, keeps the data accurate and reliable and will not negatively impact the database.
I have learnt many new skills since starting my apprenticeship, some things I have learnt since starting are; coding, querying a database, analysing data, communicating efficiently in a professional environment. I have also built upon many existing skills such as communication, analysing, report writing, time management, presenting, managing various projects at the same time.
I really enjoy the programme so far, a lot of my time is spent learning new skills in a job that is new and exciting to me. I get a lot of support from the whole team and I know if there is ever an issue someone will be able to help.
The structure of the programme so far has been very good, it is a steep learning curve and initially there is a lot to take in, however due to the structure and having one day a week to focus solely on my apprenticeship you are able to keep up to date with tasks.
I receive a good level of report from my employer. The team that I have landed in go above and beyond in providing support when ever I need it and I feel as if I can ask them for help whenever I am stuck on a task or have any questions about the apprenticeship.
So far I have not received a great amount of support from my training provider. Since starting I have met my mentor once who went through introductions and key parts of my apprenticeship, but I am yet to feel like they support me and I am curious as I get further into my apprenticeship how they will fair.
My qualification helps me perform better in my role through providing the fundamental knowledge of data and giving me an idea of the concepts and theory behind my day to day role. It helps to expand what I learn from my day to day job meaning I can understand the deeper reasons behind why something is happening.
Yes, there is so much you can get involved in at Lloyds. There is constantly social events, various sports teams and networking opportunities. Whatever you are into there will be somewhere in Lloyds which you can get involved in. Lloyds are also really supportive of this and will provide support.
Yes
I would recommend Lloyds banking group to a friend because they are a great company to work for. They provide support and guidance, you really get a feeling that they care for you as an individual and want you to succeed, they pay and benefits for the job are very good.
I would advice you to be yourself in the interviews, it is quite a long process and there are multiple different interviews but it is worth it to stick it out. Make sure you are chatty and have a genuine interest in the role, don't worry about previous experience as all the training will be provided.
