On a day-to-day business, I will either be working on my apprenticeship work, to make sure it is to it's best potential, or I will be working on the sales floor, improving my skills, connecting with our customers, and making sure I am making connections on the sales floor, and around the business.
Whilst working at Tech Data and on my apprenticeship, I have majorly improved my confidence, with help from the support network that has been built within the business. I have also improved my communications skills, both written and verbal, whilst talking within the business and to the customers that we work with. I have also had chances to gain accreditation's with the vendors that we work with, such as Microsoft and Dell.
I very much enjoy the programme offered by Tech Data and GK Apprenticeships. The balance of time to work on my apprentice work, and my time on the sales floor, which had made sure that I am always up to date with my work. The support network that has been built up in the company has been very helpful to me, and has made for a very comfortable work place and programme.
The structure is very well planned out, and has been made to ensure that I have my 20% off the job training. The induction was very informative for me, and I have had multiple oppourtunities to get training about our vendors, and training to improve my sales skills. I have also had very good oppourtunities to work on the sales floor, to expand my network within the business, and gain a lot of experience of how the sales floor works
I have received a lot of support from both my programme manager, and the managers around the business that I have interacted with and have worked with. When I have needed support, I have always felt like I could approach the people that I work with, and felt like I would always receive the support that would be right for me. The HR team in the business are always willing to help, and very open to all queries and issues that people have.
When working towards the qualifications, I received a lot of support from my training provider, GK Apprenticeship. My tutor has always been open to helping me, and providing support to me, with any queries I had that I either sent to them via email, or that I brought up in our monthly meetings.
I feel that by doing this apprenticeship, I have had much more chance to learn about our vendors, and about different sales techniques that have greatly helped my experience, and how I perform in my role here at Tech Data. The theories that I have learned from our sales training has helped me approach my customers better and more naturally. I have also found that learning about our vendors in more detail has enabled me to help our customers much more efficiently.
There is a social club that people are more than welcome to join, who have multiple different activities going on every month, with the chance to improve your network massively, and connect with people from all areas of the business. There are also chances to join in with sporting events around the local area, such as the local running clubs.
Yes
The work ethic in Tech Data is great, and everyone is willing to help you with any issues that you have. There are so many oppourtunities to learn about the vendors that we supply, and also many oppoutunities to learn also about the services we offer, such as our licenses, and our subscriptions, that benefit our customers, and our relationships with them.
Take every oppourtinity you are given, whether it's training sessions for our vendors, or just a chance to network around the business and make new connections. The company is global, and there are oppourtunities that will suit everyone, you just need to make sure that you take all oppoutunities, as it could lead you to the role you are perfectly suited for.
