Completing a morning walk around to see which tasks need to be prioritized, along side daily tasks . Guiding team members in which tasks need to be completed. Stocking the cleaning trolley and the laundry with any chemicals that they may need for the day. Undertaking housekeeping and laundry jobs. Stock checking, ordering and ensuring that rotas are completed and available for all housekeeping staff to view.
I have gained a more in depth knowledge of infection control and how it can be implemented in my job role. I have gained confidence in being able to relay information about infection control to my team, and how we can use different techniques to ensure we are keeping infections within the home to a minimum.
I enjoy using my knowledge of housekeeping in various different ways. It has helped me believe in my own knowledge and confidence on many housekeeping tasks. It has allowed me to think and develop how I can progress within my role, and other ways to teach and develop my teams understanding and pre existing knowledge.
Very well. There is a time line of what needs to be completed and when. The online learning systems are well organised, user friendly and are presented in a way that you don't feel like you are completing work. The different range of videos, information, interactive games and activities ensures I don't get bored quickly.
I receive the right amount of support that I need to complete my programme. The manager is always available if I ever need any questions asked. She is always available when my assessor completes a visit, to give feedback, sign documents and help complete observations. If I needed to find any information to support my learning and job role there is always someone available to help.
I receive a lot of support from the training provider. My individual assessor is always available via email and telephone if I ever need her help. She guides me in where I can make improvements and what I excel in. If there's any particular tasks that I can focus on for next visit, she always advises.
It has helped build my confidence of my understanding of the role. It has allowed me to speak to my team, to give them new information and methods, and the reasons behind this. I have gained a more in depth knowledge of budgeting within my role, and the importance of keeping within these for the business.
HC One host an annual open day every year in June. This allows local residents, businesses, schools etc to visit and see what life is like in a care home. Every staff member has an involvement, from dressing up, speaking to the visitors or baking cakes to sell.
