On a day to day basis my main role is to look after the StorIQ platform for the company. I speak with the owners of the company on a bi-daily basis to keep up good relations. This platform also helps us understand the needs of the retail estate and how we can help them
Since starting at TUI my Business communication has improved massively. I didn't have any corporate business experience before joining, but I have picked it up quickly since I have been here. I have also found it a lot easier to work in a team since joining as everyone bounces off of eachother.
I really enjoyed working with the Retail Standards team. They were a newly formed team in the business so it was good to see how they established themselves with an apprentice in their area. I also loved the fact we could split our time between work and our university studies.
As it was the first year of the programme, I feel like there were some areas for development and things are being trialled within the structure of the programme.
My line manager and mentor provide me with great support, however the support from TUI as a whole has not been as strong.
My course module leader provides me with good support and frequent communication to assist with my learning and development
I feel like some aspects, such as my excel skills from Quantitative methods have helped when putting this in to my day to day role. Also in terms of my forward planning skills such as the use of gantt charts etc have also been really beneficial. It has also been really useful for me when studying and applying methods of having difficult business conversations.
Yes, there are lots of extra curricular activities within TUI - everything from knitting to running! There is also the option to attend business meetings outside of work time which are beneficial.
Yes
Great colleagues, busy work environment, fun atmosphere, celebrity guests in head office - what is not to love!
