My day to day job involves working with customers to find their dream holiday. A customer will come into store with an idea of what they want and it’s my job to bring that to life with our systems and make the customers so happy with what they have that they will book that holiday
A new skill I have learned is working with foreign currency. Part of this job is working in TUI’s bureau where customers can buy foreign currency and I have learned about the different exchange rates and all the different types of currency used in different countries around the world.
Since I have only just started my programme in January I have already learned so much is such a short amount of time and it has been so interesting. I have also loved working with a great enthusiastic team who are great at helping me with my course work when I need it
The structure and organisation of this programme is really well set out. We use a programme called PIVOT were there is course work set out in monthly pages and our assessors will set us our tasks and have dates set for when they have to be completed and you will have monthly meeting with your assessor to go over the course work and give you advise on how to improve.
You receive a great deal of support from your employer because they will set aside time in your day to complete your course work but also find a good balance to do your job. They are extremely helpful when it comes to helping you learn new things and will even do some mini courses with you on things you are struggling with.
I only started a few short months ago so I haven’t have a great amount of time dealing with my training provider however I know that they are there for support if I need or if I have any questions that need answered. As I go further into my course I will work more with my training provider
This qualification help me preform better in my role because it gives me an in depth knowledge of the job I am doing and the products I am selling and I am also going more into all the different ways I can do my job and what I can progress towards.
A great thing about TUI is that they are very hands on with the products they sell so there are many opportunities to get to go out to different countries and visit the hotels that we sell and also day trips to visit cruise ships we sell and also at times competitions to win trips to concerts and other great things.
Yes
TUI is a great company not only for customers but for employees too! There are so many benefits with working for TUI and also so many opportunities to work up the manager ladders or to work in the different areas of TUI whether it be Retail, Cabin Crew or even repping in different countries or on our cruise ships.
A huge tip I would give to someone applying to TUI is just be yourself! Customers live nothing more than someone who is enthusiastically themselves and using their own personal experiences when recommending places and hotels too them. Also show your enthusiasm with your work colleagues too as everyone there is just as excited to sell holidays as you are.
