My role involves a number of different aspects but mainly booking customers their dream holidays. We can also book trips/excursions, travel insurance, airport experiences, sort their travel money in our foreign exchange bureau and book all different types of holidays, from multi-centres to city breaks to beach breaks. We offer a holiday planning service to every customer to give them the best experience possible. We also do lots of admin day to day such as sorting tickets, check-ins, boarding passes, email requests, quotes, etc. I love my job and being an apprentice I try to use every opportunity I can with a customer to find evidence for my modules I’m working on and record my development and progress throughout.
I have learnt many new systems on the computer and still develop these most days, I have learnt how to bring holidays to life for customers using every tool available to me and I’ve learnt how to read customers and understand them and exactly what they are looking for through asking the right questions and using my imagination. I have developed my skill of working in a team and independently and use this every single day.
I love the programme. I get all the support I could need through my team, my manager and my assessment coach. I finally feel like I have found my career that I want to pursue.
My programme is organised and structured well, sometimes in busy periods such as January which is our busiest time of the year, it can get hectic and hard to keep up with my apprenticeship work but other than that it is well organised, everyone always knows what they are doing.
So much support. My manager and team are always seeing how I’m getting on and offering guidance and support throughout, as does my regional manager and all the other apprentices in my region. We all help each other and it’s really lovely to be a part of.
A lot, always supporting me and keeping me on track, very helpful.
Really well, I use all the skills I have learnt through my job to help me with my apprenticeship modules and vice versa. I always get top tips from other apprentices around my region which I share with my team and upskill everyone to make sure we are being the best we can be.
No, not that I know of.
Yes
Because I feel I have found my career with them. TUI really cares about the people they employ and always makes sure they are supported, looked after and happy. They really focus on development and making you the best you can be and I love my job.
Make the most of every minute, amazing company to work for. Be prepared for interviews and do your research, there are quite a few stages. Be yourself, TUI are a people company.
