Working in various sectors of the firm. I worked in planning, commercial property, corporate and projects however others were in different sectors and did other tasks. Here is a list of tasks that I did during my work experience. In planning, I learnt about what is involved in creating a skeleton argument and CPO's and helped to create these documents. In commercial property, I obtained planning permission forms from city councils and developed my telephone skills. In corporate I completed various tasks including company searches, completing share certificates and loan note certificates that would be needed to be completed when companies make purchases. In projects, I researched and explained to a client how deeds work and the benefits of using them.
Communication skills both written and verbal, telephone talking skills, confidence, the ability to work with new people every day.
Everyone I met was very nice I wasn't made to feel like I was in the way or a burden. There were times when I didn't have much work to do but I was kept busy most of the time.
Very valued, I was made to feel part of the team.
Very well organised, I was in a specific department every day and I was given a structured timetable for the week explaining where I would be and who would be my trainee.
Most of the time a lot of support. I felt that I could ask questions as much as I liked but there were often times when I felt I had been forgotten about when my trainee was very busy and I felt as though I couldn't ask for help, but most of the time my trainee wouldn't be far away from my desk and I could go up to them and ask questions and they would come to check on how I was getting on with my work.

Very good experience and very friendly atmosphere. Everyone is willing to help you and answer any questions you have. I wanted to know whether law was for me and whether I would enjoy working in a large firm and completing this week of work experience has helped me to decide that I would like to study law and work at a large law firm like Pinsent Masons.
The application process is very long and detailed so be willing to spend some time on making it stand out! Don't be afraid to ask questions about what it's like to work at Pinsent Masons, I felt awkward asking about salaries but they won't mind you asking.
