  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • What we do at our establishment is we rotate through our workshop, learning different skills through the different rotation. • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new different skills while doing this apprenticeship and I have learnt a lot. The tutors are clear on what they teach to us so understanding isnt hard. Each rotation I do I find myself learning a new skill, some I'm even learning a couple of new skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy doing this apprenticeship as everyone is extremely nice and they are understanding when you are struggling with a certain task. They dont rush you on any of your work and they make everything as easy to understand as you can and it's easy to go and talk to a tutor if struggling

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it is a very structured and organized apprenticeship as we are able to keep up with the plan that theh had set at the start of the year, however there are a couple of times where we find ourselves sat around waiting and then with other rotations we are running out of time

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel like the employer gives us as much support as they can, they are always about to go and speak to if you need then and they will always try their best to put us as their main priority. We have meetings as often as we can so they can find out if there are any problems we are having aswell

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The train provider is really good when it comes to supporting is with working to our qualifications. I think this because they will always understand if you are struggling with a task more than others and they will happily go through it with you again if needed, or they will try and word it in a better way for you to understand more

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This qualification is good for my role as it gives me all of the skills that I will need to get through the role. I feel that the qualification helps to give me all the knowledge I need to pretty much perform most of the tasks while doing the role

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there always seems to be extra stuff available for us to do once we have finished our main task at hand. For example if we were to finish our rotation early we would be able to learn how the vinyl cutter works and use that more often, also learn new software to use on the computers

  • 9a. Would you recommend BMW Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel like it is a really friendly environment to work in and everyone is really kind and patient towards you. The whole course is really enjoyable and I never find myself getting bored, most of the time they provide us with different tasks using the skills we have learnt to keep us busy

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • For this job you need to be a very hard worker and focused all the time. You need to act like an adult because that is how they will treat you while you are here, there is no time to play around and be silly as it is not professional
