my role involves anything from checking to replacing components, and also maintaining the equipment to keep it in a good working order
i have learnt many new skills within the last 7 months of my apprenticeship, the main new skills i have learnt are to do with electrical circuits and the correct way to wire them
i really enjoy my apprenticeship and learning new skills, however i think that the management could do a lot better to actually integrate themselves into the program because i feel that all the responsibility are getting passed down to the tutors and they are being overworked.
the program is very well structured and organised i cannot find any faults.
we receive a lot of support from our tutors when we are here but hardly ever speak to management and this can cause a divide between us
overall we receive a fair amount of support via the college tutors and the tutors in the workshop but not much from the managers
i feel the raining i am being provided currently i would not be able to perform my role at Siemens properly
we dont have any of the activities above however we do go to events at places such as the NEC in Birmingham and other events around the country which are very interesting
Yes
i would recommend Siemens to my friends because it is a very good company to work for and there are endless opportunities to branch out within the company to other jobs in the future
the advice i would give them before applying is to go in with an open mind becasue if you get it it will be a very big learning curve
