On a day to day basis, my role is to set up the travel money when it is my turn to. Meet and greet customers and provide information to do with our products. Look through options of holidays and provide the best customer service possible. Create bookings and issue paperwork and also take payments. Bookings can be of almost anything such as holidays and cruises. Answer phone calls of any queries and also do after booking management such as checking in and generating boarding passes.
I have developed many skills but the main one being my confidence, I have a really supportive team and a amazing manager that are always there to help me and make sure I am okay. I have learnt a lot about geography as that is the main thing included in my job.
I really enjoy my program and the types of things that I cover. I love the way that my program is set up as it makes each workload easy to complete and clear to do. It exceeds my expectations as I knew I would enjoy it but didn't expect it to be this much. Although I am still learning - hence why I have given it an 8.
My program is set up in a extremely organised way. The system we use is called pivot and we were all trained on how to use it. I can see on the system all of my tasks and work, I also use a internal e learning called intuition that contains all lessons to do and pivot has the links for these. I am given plenty of study time from my manager and support. I also have loads of support from my assessor who comes and sees me in store for meetings, calls with her and also a message centre on my pivot system so help is never far away.
I receive plenty of support and I know that there is always more if I need so. I can always contact someone and i have then it is followed up right away, I had an atlas that I needed in order to support me but it hadn't arrived my assessor had it sent in store the next day in order for me to use it.
I receive a support from my advisor on marking and talking me through my work, Iam aware of all points of contact and have used a through with quick replies. I always receive a warm and helpful attitude with plenty of praise when explaining what has gone well. I always have guidance on what to do and how to make it clear.
I feel that my qualification helps me perform better in my role to a great extent. This is because the content that we cover related to the tasks that I complete in a day to day role. I have used the theory in practice as they are often things I do not know.
There are many activities such as social activities with team members and also events such as supplier days where companies that we work with are able to give us more information about themselves and provide me with knowledge that I may have not of been able to learn in my job role.
Yes
The atmosphere and all the people that you meet are lovely and friendly as well as pateince, this extends to staff and customers. Everything is easy to follow and there is always someone not far away to help you, they may just be over the desk or even a phone call away.
I throughly recommend doing it! I was completing the same apprenticeship, however with another company before I joined TUI and the contrast is unbelievable. Tui have a much more professional and dedicated approach and really believe in the apprenticeship scheme and getting young people involved and giving them a good start in their chosen industry.
