At the moment I'm currently in my first rotation in the Business Technology team. The team is comprised of Business Analysts & Developers. At the moment my day entails working on the software's in the team, helping clients with issues & working on other projects such as TP, MTD & Helios
I have had the chase to attend and present a few demos. During these demos I would try and sell K-Trinity a software that has been created in our team which automated the process of creating financial reports. As a result my presenting skills have improved massively. As well as this I have started learning a new language of code & developed my self confidence.
The programme is interesting as I've been able to experience fields of work that I otherwise may of not experienced. However, I do feel like we are restricted to rotate into a teams which need resources, not teams that we are necessarily interested in. E.g Data Analytics, we are restricted to rotate into the CLARA Audit Data Analytics team even though there are a range of other Data Analytics teams that do purely data analytics & use a range of software's which lines perfectly with our programme.
I feel like core businesses processes of teams with KPMG are very organised & well managed. However, outside these processes I feel like there is room to improve. For example the director of my team was only notified 2 days in advance prior to me joining so there wasn't any training set up.
Throughout my time at KPMG so far I haven't required much assistance. However, I regard to other peoples experience I think it varies. Overall I think if I or my peers needed support then there would be support available, as the support teams here actually seem like they want to help.
Regarding the whole apprenticeship, the KPMG side is top notch. However, the support, teaching & marking from BPP has been far below par so far. The quality of the marking is terrible & it's very hard to get hold of lecturers when anyone has a question. This has been shown through a recent article, 'DfE ban recruitment of apprentices at BPP University months after Ofsted warning,' (Feb 2019).
So far it hasn't. I feel like certain modules such as the introducing to programming will help you if you are in the apps & solutions team where the purely code or if your in my team where they code. However the apps & solution team use JAVA or C# & my team uses C#. So even though your learning code your team may not use that code.
There a range of societies to get involved in at KPMG. KPMG are always sending out emails with updates of what is available. There are also stands that employees in KPMG set up to get people to sign up to their club. E.g Cricket, Running etc.. & all of these are available on the KPMG website.

Great name & great working experience. There is a great learning atmosphere & this is attributed by the kind & friendly people. Working at KPMG also opens a lot of doors regarding getting into the other big four or progressing into other firms such as Investment. KPMG isn't only accountancy as you can get into Technology as well or a mix.
Research about the teams and the work done. Even though it is interesting to myself it may not be interesting for you. It's a four year programme so you have to be sure about what your embarking on. Also resurch about the culture of KPMG & the other big 4, as there may be another firm that suits you a lot more than KPMG.
