  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I help out with all of the businesses needs. The team that I work with are the core of the reason the business works, we help with tasks such as booking accommodation or sending out important letters and meetings as well as arranging events and even jobs like couriering off meeting packs for important client days.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot more technical skills. However, this role has increased my confidence when talking to new people and meeting with clients or colleagues that need tasks done, I feel a lot more at ease when talking to them. I do a lot on the computer so my skills on excel and PowerPoint have massively improved and will continue to do so, with the always changing training that you can keep taking and always learn something new.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme, I enjoy that I get to socialise with a lot of different people and not just talk to the same set of people everyday. I always meet someone new. I also enjoy that no two tasks are ever the same, you always have a variety of jobs to do and the support around if you were to stumble doing one of those jobs is incredible.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well organised and structured that at the start of the apprenticeship, I got all of my dates for webinars and face to face college days so that I knew I couldn't book any training or holiday on those days. There was also a structured document given to myself and my manager which showed what I should be achieving within the first few weeks.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive catch ups from my performance manager around once every one to two months where we talk about how I'm getting on and what sort of things I'm achieving. I also get a lot of support from my line manager who sets 6 weekly catch ups with me and is always available if I needed anything as a meeting or talk.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received a lot of support from the training provider (BPP) as they prompt us about deadlines so that we do not submit course work late and they also allow us to arrange calls with them if there is a topic in the course work that we do not understand.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification helps my job role because it prepares me for when I could potentially become higher in the business and deal with projects and more important tasks and queries. Also, it actually highlights to me the high level work that I am completing as I sometimes only think that I am doing the minimum when in reality it's completely the opposite.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • They are different things that go on the time, there isn't clubs or teams as such but there is always something different. For example a few weeks ago I competed in a netball tournament now this week there is a tag rugby tournament. Also, there are drinks at the end of every month.

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would defiantly recommend KPMG to a friend because it is such a vast company and there are so many opportunities that can come of just working as administrator for a year. You also get so much support whilst your working there that you feel as if nothing can phase you.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Be yourself. KPMG is a massive company which even I when I first started thought I would change into someone else, as I was always travelling to different cities all over the UK and attending meetings that I would've only dreamt of being involved in but I've always stayed true to myself and that's why I am settling in so well.
