Within my role I have to serve and assist customers with their everyday banking as well as answering any queries that they may have. I also have to resolve any queries that the customer may have and direct them in the correct place if they need help in certain areas.
I feel that my communication and problem solving skills have improved as I am now working in a different role than I have before. I also have been able to have the chance learn new skills within customer service and to understand the role of working within a team as well.
I am really enjoying the Apprenticeship programme as I am gaining knowledge of the banking world and have a lot of support to be able to succeed and do well within this programme. I also learn about the history about the bank and am able to extend my knowledge and feel more confident when I am speaking tot he customers.
My Skills Development Coach is very organised and always keeps me up to date with any changes or if I have any questions I can always ask. The tasks and assignments that I have to do are always thorough so I am always aware of what I need to do.
I always get my allocated hours that I am contracted to have for my apprenticeship and if I ever need any help my employer will try and help me as much as possible. My manager and deputy also go to any meetings regarding my programme to help understand what I need to do so they can help me in the future.
I can always rely on my training provider to help me if I need it and if I ever have any questions they are very quick to answer and always try to push me to work towards the best qualification that I can have. My training provider also gives me thorough instructions on my assignments so I can do the best that I can.
It allows me to have a better understanding of the role and how I can improve on my skills in certain procedures and also allows me to learn about the different queries I could come across and how to approach them. I also feel like I have learnt more about the bank and its history as well by completing this qualification.
We do have the option of the gym at work and we also carry out many team activities to help build team morale. We do have opportunities to be able to expand our knowledge and to push ourselves with events that we can attend such as career days and summer events.
Yes
I feel that NatWest as a whole is a great place to build your career and also the environment I work is very friendly and approachable. Regarding banking its simple and secure to be able to apply for and some of the products that are offered to people you cant find at other banks.
I would advise others applying to NatWest to have confidence in yourself and to have faith it what you know. I would also advise them that you would need to expect challenges and be ready to experience and learn new things. I think as well you shouldn't be scared to ask questions as you learn from your mistakes.
