My role consists of serving personal and non personal customers with their daily banking needs. The job role can range from making transaction for customer over the phone, changing any contact details, directing the customer in the right direction regards to applying for a business loan or overdraft. Customers also may need to be transferred to many different departments depending on what they require
I have learnt a variety of different skills and improved one existing ones whilst my job role at Natwest. I am a lot more confident to speak to new people and also how to speak to the correctly. I have developed my computer skills in terms of speed and knowledge of different systems.
There are good days and bad days to everything. I do enjoy the programme as I'm always learning and there's always different subjects to work on which means there's a variety of things I can work towards to ensure I don't get bored. Overall I do enjoy it.
My programme is booked into my schedule weekly with an allocated slot so I would say that is well organised in that sense. Its around a 45 minute slot per week for my apprenticeship which will be increasing in the next upcoming weeks. I am told my deadlines clearly when to submit.
I've never had an issue with my employers and whenever I've requested more time on my apprenticeship I have always been granted it. Due to busy work times sometimes I may have to reschedule my allocated slot which my employer is always happy to do. If I'm falling behind on my apprenticeship I feel comfortable to ask for additional time
My training provider is always contacting me in advance and I receive a monthly review call to check how I'm getting on at work and also to make sure I know what I need to improve on for future assignments. I'm advised on what I need to do beforehand on the virtual learning platform.
I am not able to go into complete detail as of yet as I haven't completed my qualification however the scenarios in my apprenticeship and what I have to submit are very diverse which keeps it interesting and also motivating. The scenarios also help push me out my comfort zone so I can grow.
I have saw some emails previously that we hold charity events from time to time however in all honesty I haven't saw much information in regards leisure activities or social events as a whole however each teams have their own friends which organise outside activities. I myself live quite some distance away from work this doesn't necessarily effect me.
Yes
I think our processes are fairly simple and overall we help our customers. From friends who currently bank with NatWest never have any issues with their accounts which is good to hear. NatWest seems also pretty user friendly and easy to follow in terms of registering and maintaining the account.
Make sure all parts of registration are correctly filled in as this mostly delays part of the registration. I'd also advise to check email and phone numbers to keep up to date with progress of application as these are the main ways of correspondence. Also to apply online as it is quick and easy to complete
