An overview of my role is that I speak to customers on a day-to-day basis, majority of the customers I speak to are suffering from financial difficulty and need assistance, so I am there to put repayment plans in place with them to try and resolve their problems which they are experiencing.
Within my new role I have mainly developed existing skills so it tailors more to our customers at the Royal Bank of Scotland, this is because I have worked previously in a call centre so already had existing skills, I have built on them and developed while being here though.
I do enjoy the programme which I am on at the moment, however when we started the apprenticeship with the Royal Bank of Scotland, we was told we would start to move round departments after 6 months of starting the apprenticeship with them, which I am disappointed about as this is not what we was told.
The programme we are on is very well structured/organised and is very laid out, we have set days and time for when we do our apprenticeship study time/work, also the provider of the programme have a well laid out timescale of when we start our projects and when they need to be completed by.
I receive a decent amount of support from my employer as we get 3.5 hours a week to do our assessments/work, 1 hour a week for team meetings/huddles and a 1-2 hour monthly review on how we are doing every month, they are also there for you for anything non-work related as well.
When working towards my qualification I receive plenty of support from my training provider for both work and non-work related problems, if I ever need support from them they are only an email away and are generally always available for me to speak to them, they try their best to help get the best out of you.
I feel that my qualification which I am working towards helps me perform a lot better in my role as when doing the work towards the qualification I get ideas and hints and tips to try within my role to make it easier for both me and the customer in the situation.
Yes there is plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved with at my work, there is lots of professional networking events to go to for different kinds of people, such as the female network, LGBT network and apprentice networking programme, there is plenty of team social activities as well so we can bind outside of work.
