  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • providing customer service with their banking. The agreed requirements of my job role are to serve our customers to a high quality standard. I must complete there day – to – day tasks helping them through their everyday banking i.e balances, transfers, direct debits and standing orders. I must serve for the customers in an efficient but effective way making sure that it is still a high standard of service that I am providing but also efficient as the centre is very busy. The agreed personal authorities are that I can access customers’ accounts to an extent while they are on the phone. I can make transfers for customers as well as telling them transactions on their account, cancelling cards and ordering things such as statements and cheque books. I can’t hold customers information for long periods of times and I need authority from managers for things such as temporary emergency cash, and yes checks on certain situations.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is not set up very well feels like you are contacting and chasing up your trainer than the other way about, also you only have an email to contact your trainer so if it is a quick question you need to ask you cant get a response immediately

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive time every 2 weeks to work on our apprenticeship which consist of 1hr 40mins this is great although the managers don't have a indepth knowledge into the apprenticeship so they are not able to help with any queries we may have. Would be good if there was a apprentice liaison in the business which could be a first point of contact for the staff under going the course.

  • 9a. Would you recommend NatWest to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend RBS as it is a well establish company and provides a great career progression and there is loads of great opportunities within the business. All staff I have worked with a really friendly and provide help if there is anything they can do. So I would definitely recommend RBS to a friend but just not to be under the apprenticeship programme

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • To not do the apprenticeship programme as the set up is not benefical for the people trying to complete the program,e but definitely consider a job in the bank as there are many opportunities within the bank and also a great option for career progression which is highly pushed in the bank
