i work for the property services of mag airport and each day i deal with the administration for the office. in my day to day work i file and store important information as well as archiving files, i deal with visitors and booking meeting rooms for both internal and external parties.
during my time working at MAG i have learnt any of a new skills especially working on new software as well as development on my skills on Microsoft excel, power point. i have also learnt how to use new equipment in the office space such as printing scanning copying and smart board that we use in our meeting rooms.
i do enjoy my programme as i am learning and working at the same time it gives me the independence i feel i needed and did not get in a college or university, my provider of the course is really helpful and everything i do is explained in depth so i fully understand the work i am doing.
my new programme is very organised and structured well. i fully understand all my units and it has been layout and explained to me well by my tutor is sees me monthly to ensure i am on track with what i am doing. if i find something unclear i am able to ask my training provider and they are also here to help when im stuck on my programme.
i work closely with my line manager at MAG and she is very helpful whenever i need a hand with my programme, i also find the rest of the colleges i work with do give a helping hand if i ever ask they are very supportive of my apprenticeship and all want me to succeed with it.
i get a lot of help from my training provider to help me through my course and they provide lots of information and resources for me to go through to help me the best they can to make me pass. i see my tutor once a month for reviews on work.
during my course i do find i have found out a lot of useful information that i didn't know before they contributes to my role at work. learning about organisational procedures and regulations and knowing about my companies health and safety procedures as made me very more confident in my role at work and confident that i know my company as well.
as far as i am aware i do not think my company does extra activities all the time, however in the past we have put on volunteering days and boxing sessions for members of staff but i have never been involved in any. this is something to work on in the future.
Yes
MAG airport is a huge company with many many different path ways and areas of work and variety of different path ways for anyone to chose from and its a successful business that is doing well for the UK economy, its a really well structured organisation that would help you chose your life career.
advice i would give is just go for it and dont hesitate, if there is something your interested in at the airport but your not sure whether it is suitable for you, just go for it and push yourself you may find its the best thing you've ever done and if your at MAG and decide the role your in isn't for you, dont hesitate to try something else at the airport.
