  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within the Education, Skills and Productivity Sector assisting senior staff such as Managers, Partners and Directors with their client-facing roles. Tasks will include; producing a client list for an upcoming dinner event, collating all of the credentials we have/need, updating the quarterly targeting list, assisting partners with information to complete leaflets/brochure etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I work frequently on Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint to collate the information and display this to the stakeholder i am assisting. I have learnt different formulas for excel such as sorting the boxes and modifying the information. I also have been working on our CRM system which was a new system to me, this is where I can search our client contact details.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme, it has been a very good experience for me to network with colleagues across the firm at all different grades. The rotational aspect about the programme allows me to learn a variety of skills throughout my apprenticeship which help me decide where I would like to progress my future career.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised, we have monthly apprentice catch up meetings with the other 360 apprentices. This helps us find out about the different roles and share our skills, as well as network with the other apprentices on the programme. We also have frequent BPP days where the learning side of the apprenticeship takes place to keep us on track and support us as apprentices.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, I have frequent meetings to discuss how i am getting on with any feedback from other people in the team and we can discuss any areas of concern (if I have any). I feel very supported as an apprentice in my role and i am always encouraged to ask questions along the way.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have lots of support from BPP, as mentioned we have frequent BPP training sessions based on the learning side of our apprenticeship. we also have webinars every few weeks which is an online platform to ask for extra support. in addition tot hat we are assigned a training coach who is our point of contact at all times in response to support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am able to learn skills from my qualification that I am able to utilize everyday within my role; this can include communication skills, IT skills, networking skills and general knowledge. I feel that the Business Administration aspect of the learning is suitable for every day office knowledge which has been very helpful for me.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We are encouraged to take 6 days annual leave for volunteering events/exercises. This may include; back to school programme (visiting local schools to express the apprenticeship to them), Charity events, social events and client events. These are put in place to improve our personal skills such as networking and communication.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • KPMG is very supportive with personal and work aspects, the firm encourage us to learn (we always have online training courses to take part in to support this). The apprenticeship programmes allow us to rotate across the firm and experience different areas/teams, this is helpful for you to get an idea of where you see your career progressing to.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • - Be yourself, KPMG encourage diversity within the firm. It is important to be who your are rather than who you think someone wants you to be. - If you are not sure what career path you want to choose, KPMG offer secondments in different areas of the business for you to try.
