My Role is to assist my relationship manager to look after a portfolio of customers looking after their banking and financial needs. we act as a first point of contact for these clients. in my role, I have to keep an eye on the email traffic that comes in from customers and try to either help them resolve these or point them in the direction of the person who can.
i have learnt new skills as well as developing new skills. in my role we heavily use IT and a few programs. Through customer contacts, i have developed my communication skills as well as organisational skills as in this role, prioritisation is a key to be successful in this role
Very much
its structured really well. i think the way it is structured accommodates for all the individual lerner's abilities. it also gives them the time to do their learning alongside carrying out their day to day tasks needed for their role. Having a mentor does also help a lot if you need support or have a query about anything
My employer supports me in any way they can as they allow me twenty percent of my working time to do my studies for the programme. they also let me travel for induction days as and when required. they would also accommodate my needs for when an exam is coming up or anything like that, so you can be given may be extra time around exam times.
i have a brilliant mentor who does regular reviews with myself and my line manager. He was concerned about my wellbeing and always makes sure i am where i am supposed to be in terms of my course. he also gives honest and valualbe advice if i am not where i need to be. really good guy. I cant fault him.
it gives me the whole picture about how the financial industry works along with useful references in regards to checking on a process or a regulation. it also gives us the bigger picture around how the bank works as a whole and how different departments work together to serve customers.
there are always extra curricular activities. i have attended a couple of networking events. we also quite often get together as a team and organise a football match with another firm. The bank has also organised an apprenticeship academy where ex apprenticees get together with current ones and we cover a topic. it could be from business developments to trade finance or any good practises to share amongst one another.
Yes
A really good place to work.
My advice would be to do your best at anything you trying to do. put your hear and soul into your job and treat customers the way you would personally like to be treated. Always follow the processes set by the bank and keep up to date with new regulations.
