I work alongside four relationship managers where I support them day to day with their current portfolio of customers. I help provide an exceptional customer service before and after the agreement. Some of the actions I complete day to day consist of creating quotes, completing handovers, company checks and customer/supplier calls.
I left have many skills since joining the bank and in particular my role. Some of the skills I have developed or built upon since being in my role are professionalism, confidence, resilience and work ethic. These have been developed on my own and wanting to better myself but also with the help of others around me.
I find my programme interesting and very knowledge based so it is widening my knowledge around the banking world in particular the regulations surrounding banking and my role in particular. The programme is going to be very useful for my future career and provide me with greater opportunities when looking for future roles in the bank
The programme wasn't amazingly structured in the beginning as there wasn't a great communication platform where myself and others were told what we would be doing and when, and this delayed the starting process. But once we got into the swing of things the programme has been very well organised and fairly well structured.
I receive lots of support from my employer. As I sit in the same office with my line manager on a day to day basis we are able to communicate about any concerns or general questions I have. We also have regular one to one meetings where he helps to support me further.
I have received a lot of help from my training provider. I have had constant communication with my coach who has helped me throughout the programme and has given me sound advice across all different aspects of the course. We also have monthly meetings to discuss my work and any concerns.
I think that the qualification has given me a greater knowledge of the banking industry and therefore I have been able to pick up on a few things that have benefitted me in my day to day role. Alternatively there are several areas in my qualification that I believe I wont ever need to use or have used.
Yes there are several. An example of one that I have recently volunteered to participate in is squash. This is a social and physical activity that has been introduced as a great way to network with colleagues and build better relationships in a non formal environment. There are also many others other than just sport.
Yes
I would recommend RBS to a friend because they are a great bank with great values. They prioritise their people and in turn we prioritise our customers which is why the system at RBS works. I have been treated well by the bank and its employees since beginning and that is why I would highly recommend.
I would suggest that anyone applying takes full advantage of the opportunities they are given, as they seem to be endless. Go into your role with an open mind and take each day as it comes, putting maximum effort into each day, in order to take the most out of it.
