My day to day role includes helping Customers with their banking needs whatever the need. I cashier so Give people their money and cash cheques. I also am put the front helping customers with general enquiries and make payments, amend standing orders, set up for online banking and mobile banking and teach customers ways of making their banking simpler and more convenient. I also book appointments in to the diaries to help customers with products.
I had never done banking before so everyday is a learning experience which has meant I have grown and developed a lot since i started. My team work skills have improved, and my confidence when talking to customers has sky rocketed. I am constantly learning new skills. I am gaining more maths and computer skills through this job.
I really enjoy the program that I am doing with BPP, I have a really excellent development coach who has always been on hand when I have needed help and support. It is a very interesting programme and I am constantly learning with it, It has also given me confidence and made me feel really good when I get good feedback. The missions are varied and mean that I am always thinking about how I could improve to succeed more.
My programme has been structured very well. I like the VLE learning portal as it’s easy to use and holds so much valuable information. The topics all flow nicely And the reading material has been really useful. I think this program has been set up really well and has definitely given me a lot more knowledge.
The support from my employer personally has not been the best as I am employed in a very busy branch so I do not get given the time I need to do my apprenticeship in work. I have done all of my missions at home with the help of my apprenticeship coach.
I have received loads of help And support from my bpp coach. No question is ever left unanswered and nothing is ever a hassle with him. He has always helped me when I have needed it and he has been invaluable to me pushing me to succeed which is building my confidence.
My qualification is a level 2 providing financial customer service. My day to day role is and will be helping customers in any way that I can. The programme has given me valuable knowledge to achieve this. I have never been in a customer service role before and the programme is helping me to achieve amazing things.
My work place does hold events such as Christmas parties and other social gatherings. This gives the opportunity to mesh with colleagues and build strong work relationships. There are also training days held for new staff when they join the bank. There are listening events to put across ideas and suggestions to senior management.
Yes
I would definitely recommend NatWest to a friend and I already have. My parents sister applied for a job and sadly was unsuccessful but in will al aye recommend them as I feel that it is a really great job and an amazing company to work for and in terms of career progression the opportunities are endless.
My advice to others would be don’t rule out the job because your maths skills aren’t great or because you have never done anything like it j gore and you don’t think you will be accepted. I was a care assistant before and I was thinking of a career in nursing but this job has been incredible for me.
