banking advisor involves taking calls from customers and helping them with their query, this includes making payments over the phone, cancelling direct debits, giving account balances and helping with online banking queries and if necessary investigating payment on the customers account for them. it may also include contacting other departments to help solve queries
I have learned to work in large groups and develop my inter personal skills. I have learned to develop a great deal of patience within my new role and take ownership of all my customer queries. I have developed a great sense of leadership skills too and put them to use thrpughout the week to help my manager with comms sessions
I am very much enjoying my programme I had before never considered an apprenticeship however I a m glad I did. I have learned many new skills and have gained many new life skills and have had continuous support from my trainers and other apprentices on the programme, this puts me at ease and helps very much
at the beginning there was a small structure however it was hard to grasp but since then there has been a number of changes with the structure from the bpp and my employer. this has made it easier to compete tasks and workbooks on time and to the best of my ability
my employer has been very encouraging with the programme and has provided me with a great amount of support. they have also allowed me extra time to complete tasks due to having system issues within the workplace which was greatly appreciated allowing me to complete my taskboook on time and of high standard
my training provider has been very supportive and encouraging. she checks in with me once a week through email making sure I am on track and on time with completing my taskbooks. if I am not sure of a question within the book I email her and she is very quick at responding and putting my mind at ease
there are certain things I have learned through my apprenticeship that help me in my day to day role. such as actions and performances in the workplace and compiling with regulations, these are things that I had before never considered and now I put them into practise at all times in the workplace
there are many opportunities to get involved in the workplace, there is a gym that you can join with a discounted membership and lunchtime yoga. furthermore in my department there are many opportunities to be a charity representative like myself and get involved in charity events like bake sales and tombola
Yes
in my personal opinion the bank is a very good employer, with excellent benefits and holiday allowances. they are very supportive and trust your own decisions. they have been more than helpful in a pre existing medical issue that I have and have been nothing but supportive. they are extremely helpful at helping you progress with your career
make sure that this is a job you are suited for i.e able to ajust to changes quickly and can perform well under pressure. be able to make a good impression and are able to work at a high standard. but further more apply if you would like to have a career rather than a job
