My daily jobs included putting stock out from the warehouse. Working a delivery. Making sure things where rotated. Being able to work on a till. Remembering PLU's. Being able to give out the correct change etc. Cleaning up, fixing isles and fixing the foods on the shelves that were messy. Im trying to work up to being on the tills and helping people around the shop. It benefits me a lot as I know what to expect in the future
Within the time I've gained skills through on the apprenticeship, I've also developed on customer service skills as its a big part of retail and has to be dealt with on a day to day basis. I feel a lot more confident serving customers as well as developing me for the outside world.
I really enjoy it. When I wake up I know Im off to work for a great company who has good future prospects for me (I want to be a manager), the pay is pretty good for someone my age so thats great. I really look forward to coming to work and helping costumers.
I feel as though it’s a very organised programme, it’s straight forward and everything’s explained in the easiest way , nothing really ever complicated. I know where I stand within my job and within the company, I know what work I need to do to make sure that I am on target.
I receive lots of help. They look after me and make me feel as if I am one of the family. If I’ve ever any questions or if I’m ever struggling, I know my manager is willing to help until I understand. this makes me really happy as I wouldn't want to work somewhere that doesnt care about me
I received a lot of support from my training provider throughout my apprenticeship. I had his work email and phone number if I needed to contact him for support outside of his monthly visits. He had a positive attitude to supporting me, he was very approachable and gave a lot of advice when needed. My assessor was supportive when speaking about my person home life issues which potentially could of affected my work and gave a lot of guidance on how to improve.
I feel like its giving me more of an insight into just serving customers. there is so much more to the job than just that, things like cleaning up, stacking shelves, working to take deliveries, working on time to meet hourly targets etc. There is a lot more to it than people realise who don't work at aldi
If you work in the morning you have a lot o opportunities to do other things outside of work as the shops are still open. however, if you are doing evening (2pm - 10:30pm) you get out when most of the shops are closed and usually sleep until you need to get up for work so you don't really have a life outside of work. In some other stores in Aldi they do some work parties and days out/ evening out together e.g. meals or bowling.
Yes
It pays well and treats its staff well with Aldi Perks and pensions. the general idea is that you work hard and you get treated well. if you aren't up to aldi's standards then look forward to review conversations about your work effort and timings. it isn't an easy job but seeing your pay check at the end of the month is definitely a big motivation.
Make the most of the opportunity as Aldi is a huge company and would be a great experience for anybody. I would tell people to listen to what is said in the interview and trail as everything said is very honest. There is no point in pretending to be someone you arent, so be honest and work hard.
