  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The overview of my role is the first point of contact for any IT related issues or request within the business, From here we troubleshoot/advise, grant access, or escalate to someone who is able. My role also entails all Asset management for the Infrastructure of the business, Imaging and providing required equipment to our staff, and keeping track of what we have in the company

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learned a multitude of new skills; Communication - I have to communicate efficiently and effectively with both colleagues and "customers" every day. Making sure to remain formal, knowledgeable and empathic, using my best judgement during each point of contact. Administration - I've learned how to use a considerable number of System admin related applications during my tenure - Active directory, MS Exchange, Casper JAMF to name a few. I've also learned how to troubleshoot advanced physical infrastructure, Being able to get my hands on multiple machines and server rooms

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy being able to learn, I know that every day I come into work I am being incredibly productive, And the ability to learn on my apprentice program then come into work and apply that knowledge is really gratifying. The knowledge of the progression I am making definitely makes it satisfying

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the organization and structure seems great. I always know what I need to be doing, and if Im on any courses out of office, I am informed of such beforehand and given helpful reminders. When I arrive on the course it's always punctual and theres a great amount of resources to help me with my study.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is excellent for support, I am always given a healthy amount of time to focus on studying/project work/exam prep. My colleagues here always have my back and offer me their knowledge and assistance with anything I'm struggling with. and there is a great apprentice support network team within the company.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The provider gives great support for my qualifications, I have materials and mock exams I can access months before I have to attend courses/complete exams. When I'm in the course the trainers are always passionate and knowledgeable, and are happy to spend extra hours with you to give further support

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualifications are all well tailored to my role, Every time I go onto a course to learn I come back and I'm immediately able to apply knowledge relating to my work role. I also have moments while on the course where something I did not understand at work starts to click due to the learning I have done

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is easily hundreds of different activities to get involved in at work, There's everything ranging from small team outings such as escape raims to major company events such as a Christmas party, and a social media platform on which you can find the activities you would like to partake in.

  • I would recommend booking.com to a friend as it's a great place to work, The culture is welcoming and productive, The offices are brilliant, and theres so much room for both personal growth and progression. I see so many people each work day who have progressed internally within the company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Booking.com?
  • Keep your CV minimalistic, Don't full it with useless information, As long as the vital information to stand out is on there, it's the interview that matters, that's your opportunity to show who you are as a person, and an important part of that is positivity and enthusiasm.
