i manage a team of 25 selectors. My role has a wide variation from planning rota's to conducting one 2 one's to managing sick and holidays, KPI's H&s etc. Also at times you can be responsible for up to 100 members of staff depending on the time of year and weather.
no, i am quite early into the program, at first i felt like i was not being giving any direction/instruction nor work being set, now it has been set i feel i do not have enough hours in the day to complete said work. The work life balance management is more than difficult.
i'm not getting any where with the program at the moment. I feel its quite wishy washy with meetings, workshops etc. I have a workshop coming up and if i feel this still isn't for me i will have to speak to my provider about rescinding my intent to complete the program.
quire poorly organised, not just for me. I mean i asked to swap a meeting once and i got double booked. Yes it was at my request but if it wasnt possible it shouldnt have been accepted and i would have changed things my end instead, thus still partaking, in the end i cancelled my meeting so the people who i was booked against could go ahead with there own.
about average really as im not too sure my direct leader is sure what the course entails, but then neither do i. It was not stressed to us at the start how difficult and how much work would need to go into this qualification. When you work 48+ hours a week i just feel it is not suitable to do such a qualification.
as much as she can spare when we meet, she is understanding and emphatic. We have done one recording in 6 months and this has to be completed in another 6 months. I am in constant fear that im not going to complete it. Im not too sure what the structure even is i feel like its just being winged.
not completed yet and i dont have anything given to me by the training provider to help me develop in work. I have not learnt anything new about how to manage how to feedback nor supervise. I feel i learn more off the training program already in place by our own academy.
The only sociable things with work i know about to get involved in are when we have something for charity, but then with time restrictions and work commitments its not that easy to shuffle things about to be able to partake in such activities. As a team sometimes we socialise in the pub.
Yes
your well looked after and its such a growing company you could go far. I have recommended a couple of friends in logistics and store and they are still employed. I think if you have the right mindset you can progress especially if you in at management level, for example ASm ot SL.
Make sure your a hard worker and not afraid to get your hands dirty. Aldi is all about efficiency and co-operative working. with the 3 core values being responsibility, simplicity and consistency we stive to be the best and most competitive above all other competitors Aldi come second to none.
