My job role is store apprentice it’s the same as a normal store assistant on a day to day basis you will be put through your paces all day we start by doing the chiller then freezer then we would put the ambient order out while being on tills
I have gained loads of skill as well as developed them especially since I have never worked in retail before so it was a new challenge to me especially when dealing with the public I have gained more knowledge in dealing with customers to keep them feeling satisfied and happy
I enjoy my apprenticeship because everyday is a new day and it’s giving me something to work towards especially when I know where I could be after the apprenticeship so that gives me the motivation to want to learn and I have people around me to support me as well
I think the programme is structured well especially when it comes to what you get at the end it’s such an amazing opportunity for young people who get the chance to take responsibility at such a young age and have the amazing opportunity to manage a multi billion company
The support I get from my employer is absolutely fantastic as they are always there for me and teaching me everyday giving me tips and tricks on how I can improve they also don’t just support me in the job but also with outside problems too which is a bonus
The support from the trainer I have is fantastic always giving me the support anytime I ask questions never fails to answer any question the trainer is a lovely person to have especially when it’s something that I want to do when I’m older so she gives me the best advice
I feel that my qualifications going with through my trainers provider as everyday I am improving in my role to be the person that the company wanting me to be as every day I’m hitting my targets more easy the trainer also helps me a lot to make sure I pass the first year
Yeah there are load of activities to do especially in my store as we are going to be doing activities such as walking up Ben Nevis we are going to try and do that more often every couple of month plus there is a big football tournament coming up in the work for all the stores
Yes
When I started at aldi I didn’t know what I was doing when I walked in the door but it’s defin the best experience I’ve had the staff are so friendly and helpful especially when they didn’t know me plus working in retail is an exciting jib
The tips and tricks I would give to people applying for aldi is always make sure you are confident try and come out your shell quickly as possible so that it gives your other colleagues a better understanding of who you really are this benefits the team a lot as you would be seeing more of them than your family so it becomes like a mini family
