  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Booking meeting rooms, ensuring the meeting rooms are set up. I interact with both internal and external people on a day to day basis. Internal communications is mainly about booking meeting rooms and external communications is when they visit and i offer refreshments. My individual responsibilities include recycling and fire safety.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed new skills from working in a new environment and internal training courses are always available for me to learn new skills and build my confidence in these areas. In my role i have learnt how to communicate better with others and how a professional business works internally.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working as a team and building on my communication skills. I enjoy my programme as i'm able to work closely with other aspects of the business including events, charity work and facilities. My role is varied so it allows me to gain experience in many different areas.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is organised in providing me with the right support and training that i require. My meetings are useful and supportive. Although my apprentice programme was slow to begin and continues to move forward slowly, my tasks are given enough time to complete. I am given support in my studying and will help me if needed.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager provides me with support and feedback when required. My 1 to 1s help me to focus on my personal and work development and to realise how much I have achieved and what I still need to improve on. I receive guidance and support on any problems i have in or out of work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Guidance and support is given to my by my training provider when needed. Although the giving of tasks and general communication is slow, my assessor provides me with the information i need to complete tasks. Extra support is offered to me and my tutor guides me through the process and explains what i need to do to pass.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is helped me to perform better in my role as I now have a better understanding of how a business works and the different compartments of it. The things i have learnt in my qualification have given me more knowledge and understanding of the business and my role in particular.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Many activities are offered such as charity volunteering days, these are a great way to get to know your colleagues better and build better relationships. There are social events offered such as when the building is invited to events or if we are celebrating a birthday./ leaving do. Company activities are also available.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Sage to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Sage offers learning opportunities and chances to build and expand on your skills and knowledge. The monthly reviews with your manager are more frequent and less informal and long. This can help you to keep track on your personal and work achievements and what you still need to improve on.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage?
  • Come to the interview well prepared and seek opportunities to gain experience on the qualification you are applying for. During the on boarding process, try to gain as much experience as you can by getting involved in different areas and events within sage to help yourself to better understand the business.
