  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Every day is something different, you could be an early morning working the fresh delivery, or an afternoon shift where you’d be replenishing the store, dealing with customers on the shop floor and doing some cashier work on the tills. Never a dull moment and you’ll be surrounded by great people

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since I started at Aldi I’ve been continuously building and developing my skills across the board, be it my abilities on the shop floor, confidence with customers, or bonding with my peers. Aldi is a great place if you’re willing to work hard and eager to learn and take responsibility

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The program is great because it allows you to put in your fair share of hard work and you’ll be rewarded by great career progression in a year you can go from not knowing a thing about retail to being given responsibilities of a deputy manager of a store.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has a good structure and you’ll have regular communication with your trainer who will be there to guide you through the program and help you to teach yourself the elements you need in order to complete the work and develop you skills within each area of the program

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is always there if I need anything I have multiple people who I can go to and ask for support if needed there are many people who want to see me succeed and would be willing to take time out of their day to teach me and help me learn

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I get regular updates with them where we will either sit down and discuss things and get work completed or remote phone calls where we can do the same on a smaller scale. If I ever need help with anything I am encouraged to contact them and simply ask in order to progress

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps you to develop yourself as an individual and makes you think more about what you do on a day to day basis whilst doing your job. You learn how the company works and begin to understand more why things are done and they way things need to be dealt with

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The company have an app where they post updates from all areas of the company to keep people up to date and informed about the latest events and upcoming opportunities. Individual store teams build excellent friendships and they will often try to organise meet-ups and drinks for social occasions at special times of the year

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A excellent company to work for. They will encourage you to be the best you can be, and provide you with all the support and training you could need in order to be the best version of you. They have excellent pay and fair hours with store teams that work together and have fun.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Look at the recruitment website, watch the videos on there, take time when going through the application process, go into stores and talk to members of the team about the role and try and find out if it’s for you and ask for any tips about how to get a job.
