My role is integral to the sage pay team, as I am responsible for customer marketing and social media marketing for Sage's payments division (Sage Pay). I regularly interact with large partners also, such as PayPal and World Pay. I schedule and report social media campaigns, as well as write articles for the Sage blog
Working at Sage has greatly assisted my development in my interpersonal skillset. Learning how to conduct a formal meeting, and how to present and interact with high ranking executives within the organisation. I've learnt the core principals of digital marketing, and how exactly it plays a pivotal role in the organisation.
I enjoy my programme immensely. The people I work with are incredibly helpful and lovely, mindful of the fact that I am here to learn and therefore giving me the assistance I need. I don't feel excluded or as if I am not a real member of the team.
It started out a bit disorganised, as there was a lack of communication between my provider an my employer. However, this was quickly resolved and now my apprenticeship schedule intertwines perfectly with my work schedule and the two stake holders operate side by side in perfect harmony. It is joyous.
I receive abundant support from my employer, but only if it is required. My manager is not a micro manager, and is all about self working and self development. He gives me a task, points me in the right direction and allows me to get on with it myself. He provides support if i need it
My trainer could not be recommended highly enough. She is constantly on hand to provide any kind of assistance, and is firm but fair in the standard of the work. She wishes all of her students to succeed and she ensures to the best of her ability that they do just that.
What I have learnt in my training so far, I had already learnt in my A - Level course, so it is fairly familiar to me. However, it has been incredibly helpful to have the refresher as this role is very new to me and i wanted to go in and perform.
Sage offers so many of these activities it would be impossible to list them all. Due to personal mental health issues i am usually unable to attend them, but I know that I will always receive an invitation. The atmosphere throughout the company is incredible, and a major step up from where I was working prior.
Yes
Incredible development opportunities, aside from that there is also just a great friendly atmosphere from everyone in the organisation. Everyone wants to help you succeed personally and be the best that you can be, and have some fun doing it. My managers motto is "you're here for 8 hours a day, you might as well enjoy it"
Be yourself, Sage is a company that thrives on individuality and drive. If you mask that because you are afraid of how it will come across in the interview, then you've already lost out to someone else. In a big organisation, they accept the best and nothing but. But that doesn't mean on paper. Prove yourself, with drive honesty and tenacity
