An overview of my role and what it involves on a day to day basis is generally duties such as: Reporting and analytics Monthly regional calls across our tier 1 markets Advocacy platform moderation Hootsuite (scheduling platform) scheduling content Training colleagues via Microsoft Teams Creating copy for our social channels
Here are a few skills I have developed during my apprenticeship course: Undertaking Brandwatch Analytics qualification Understand how to pull analytics via Hootsuite Present business data in the most efficient and professional way making it easy to digest Understand how to construct and implement a new global social strategy Take responsibility in managing some of our social accounts solely
I enjoy working at Sage more than I enjoy the Apprenticeship aspect of things I have experienced a change in assessors from my apprenticeship provider and many changes in managers from my employer so it your enjoyment will rely on the their personality and working style. For me, one of my concerns were that no future prospects are proposed and not much 1:1 teaching time.
My programme is okay in terms of its structure. It really depends on who your assessor is and how they work through it with you. The programme itself is well structured but assessors have their own way of working through programme's which can be efficient and well timed and others can be forgetful, no relationship formed, etc.
I receive a lot of support from my emoyer. My employer has me in their best interest but depending on your manager's past experience in managing an apprentice, there can be some obstacles in setting time aside for apprenticeship work along with your general duties working for your employer.
I've had a few assessors during working towards my qualification so it really depends on who you are assigned to. Some have been unsupportive, forgetful, not punctual or professional and some have been a really great teacher with plenty of support. So, it really depends on your assessor rather than the training provider.
I don't feel that my qualification (through my training provider) helps me to perform that much better in my role. This is because I work in Marketing but my qualification is in business admin so not a lot is relevant to what I actually conduct on a day-to-day basis.
Definitely! Lots of activities, Sage Summits, external influencer events, Marketing conferences, charity volunteering days, weekly runs, marathons, quizzes, drinks, etc. There is always so much to do and not just social events to attend within your team but crossing between teams and between offices and countries. It really is fun!
Yes
Like with every company you will find supportive people and unsupportive people who want to challenge you and help you grow through your apprenticeship journey. Sage has a lot of people like this. Although, we are a global company with offices in 24 countries, it is hard to say comment for apprentices in Paris, Newcastle, Frankfurt. I am based in London and everyone here is awesome!
Don't be afraid to start a conversation with people, we're friendly! If you're ever stuck on something, don't hesitate to ask, we'll help you or point you in the right direction. When starting, there will be a boring phase in terms of your work duty as you're learning the basics but once you've gone beyond your induction, it's a great experience.
